Gregory H. Sachs

Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer

Gregory H. Sachs is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sachs Capital Group. For over 30 years, Mr. Sachs has been a pioneer in the Asset Management industry with extensive experience partnering both in the US and abroad with “Blue Chip” financial institutions, public and private institutional investors, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (multi-billion-dollar families). In 1993, Mr. Sachs founded Deerfield Capital Management, a firm focused on fixed income arbitrage, relative value trading strategies, and structured debt products. As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Deerfield, Mr. Sachs grew the business to approximately $17 billion in assets under management. At Deerfield, Sachs created a public REIT (DFR:NYSE) with gross assets in excess of $8 billion. After Mr. Sachs sold Deerfield in 2007, he continued to develop and refine investment strategies. In 2011, Mr. Sachs founded SCG Financial Acquisition Corp, an $80 million SPAC which completed its acquisition in 2013. In 2019, he developed an investment strategy utilizing Structured Notes that would become the basis for SCG Asset Management. Mr. Sachs graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with an MS in Quantitative Analysis and Finance and a BBA in Actuarial Science and Quantitative Analysis. In 2001, Mr. Sachs was named in Crain’s Business’s annual “Forty Under Forty”. He is a former Trustee of the Chicago Shedd Aquarium and Lurie Children’s Hospital.
